Charlie’s main areas of instruction are in his “home patch” of Westminster, Kensington, Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Belgravia, Pimlico and Fulham. Also covering south of the river prime residential areas including Putney, Barnes and Wimbledon.
Charlie’s expert advice and knowledge of the London prime residential market is invaluable when it comes to making the right property decisions. He has been involved in the London property sector since 1987 when he started his working life at a private bespoke Belgravia based valuers and estate agents. Having gained a BSc (Hons) in Estate Management he has been a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 2000. He was also a member of The Incorporated Society of Valuers and Auctioneers (ISVA) and has added to his portfolio of qualifications by undertaking energy assessment courses.
In addition, he has undertaken timber and damp qualifications with PCA becoming a CRST Surveyor. He is studying to become a registered specialist in design of the structural water-proofing for sub basement structures.
Harry Speir AssocRICS
Harry qualified in 2003 with the RICS whilst working for Countrywide Surveyors, where he valued property for banks and building societies, and undertook Residential Survey work across West and South West London.
In 2008 Harry set up and ran his own successful business Right Start Energy, providing energy certificates for Residential property in West London. After three years Harry sold the business to join Warren, a boutique, independent Estate Agents in Putney, where for two years he was able to be involved in the Residential deal making process.
Harry rejoined Countrywide Surveyors as an Associate Surveyor in 2012, which provided him with the contemporary Surveying experience needed as a spring broad to start his own private practice Speir Surveyors and Valuers. After a very successful start up he has now joined forces with Charlie Mactaggart and Hugh Watson to form MSW Surveyors and Valuers.
Hugh Watson MRICS
Hugh Watson has over 20 years experience as a General Practice Surveyor, both in the commercial (Network Rail, MEPC, St. Quintin), and residential sectors (Forth Ports). His understanding of London property market is comprehensive, and his breadth of knowledge across the sectors has been invaluable in the face of making sound property decisions.
In 2013, Hugh set up DM7 Ltd, specializing primarily in surveys and valuations of prime residential properties in central London. The business has grown quickly so he is joining forces with Charlie Mactaggart and Harry Speir to form MSW Surveyors and Valuers Ltd.
Hugh is an excellent communicator at all levels and has a particular skill in looking at and resolving complex property issues.
